"Follow your Bliss" collection launch in collaboration with Adelita&Moi

Follow your bliss- Blisshood totebag

Blisshood is proud to collaborate with Adelita&Moi- an ethical Paris-based brand— to create the “Follow your Bliss” capsule collection.

We are two Mexican moms and entrepreneurs who share the same brand values: empowerment, sustainability and following your bliss.

Together, we have designed a sustainable and socially responsible collection that is full of symbolism, while honoring our Mexican roots and the work of its artisans.

Each of the motifs embellishing the Blisshood totebags and t-shirts was weaved by indigenous women from San Andrés Larrainzar, Chiapas in Mexico using the waist loom technique, which is a pre-Hispanic technique where the artisan, through a methodical process of counting threads, creates a piece of cloth of incredible beauty. Due to its artisanal process each work is unique.

Drawing from the Chamula culture , the indigenous people attribute different meanings to each weaved symbol. In the case of the “Follow your bliss” collection, we decided to incorporate two major Chamula symbols: the butterfly with spread wings and the diamond motif.

The Buttefly Wings

This symbol represents a butterfly spreading its wings. For the chamula, the butterly means transformation and growth. Paulina, founder of Adelita& Moi and I decided to hand-embroider the butterfly on the left side , where the heart is, in order to honor the feminine aspect of tenderness and motherhood.

The Diamond (Rombo)

This symbol is associated with support. We considered this meaning perfectly appropriate for expat moms , to be reminded that there we can always come together as a community to find support.

Diamonds also represent the center of the universe, the Muk Ta 'Luch; the universe, which in turn interprets the passage of the sunrise from the sky to the underworld transiting the 4 cardinal points—which is why there are four white dots. We believe that the four cardinal points represent the diversity of cultures coming together once we move to our new host country.

In our t-shirts, the diamond motif has been deliberately hand-embroidered on the back in order to symbolize a helping hand that has your back and that will always support you.

We hope that you love this capsule collection as much as we do.
